Creating New Supplier or Customer

This video shows the process of creating a new supplier or customer using our software. What’s great about it is that the process is the same.

Using the fields provided, or by creating custom fields, your business can have all of the necessary information you need to know about your supplier or customer. See the video below for instruction:

Hey there, Rachel here with Finale and this video will demonstrate how to create a customer. Creating a customer in Finale is simple and can be done two ways: you can create your customer manually or you can import multiple customers by using a spreadsheet. In this video, I’ll be demonstrating how to create a customer manually.

To get started, head over to the selling dropdown and click on customers. From this next screen, you’ll click the blue button at the top right-hand corner labeled "Create Customer". Give your customer a name in this field here; this can be an actual name or a business name. If you’re using a business name, you can also add a contact name here.

Use the terms dropdown to specify if the customer you’re creating has special terms. If you would like to create your own special terms for sales orders, navigate to the application settings here and click on the selling tab. You’ll find the default special terms in Finale by clicking on the terms from this side menu. Here, click on "Add Order Terms" and use the optional days until due column. Use the check boxes to choose if these terms will be available for sales and purchase orders. Click "Save Changes" and navigate back to your customer page to finish setting up.

Now along with special terms, you also have the option to assign price levels to each of your customers. Just like the special terms, pricing levels can be managed from your application settings. Let’s go ahead and click back to the application settings and this time head over to the product section. Here, you’ll scroll down and locate your selling prices. You’ll notice that I have three set up, which all provide a discount to the base price of my products.

We’ll click into the wholesale one here and you’ll see that I’m using the formula that will give a 50% discount on my products. This level is applied, so locate a variety of formula options. Use this dropdown to preview how this formula will affect your product.

To create a new pricing level, click "Add Formula" here. Then to finish setting up your new customer, come back to the screen and continue adding additional fields. When you are ready to add your new customer, click "Save Changes" and that’s it for creating a customer in Finale.
